A beagle named Shep, who has impaired vision, was spotted wandering the streets of Alabama with injuries to one eye, neck, and the other eye missing. Luckily, Two by Two Animal Rescue came to his rescue and helped him find a new home with a caring adoptive mom who discovered him through a post on Facebook.

When Micah Larsen Brannon first saw a photo of her son Shep, she immediately felt a deep connection and knew in her heart that they were destined to become a family.

According to the veterinarian, Shep was found tied up and deserted for a while before being discovered. Tragically, when he was eventually found, he had already perished from being frozen and was also suffering from a serious eye problem. Upon consulting with an eye doctor, it was determined that Shep’s last remaining eye had to be surgically removed because of the extensive harm it had suffered, resulting in him losing his sight entirely.

Isaiah noted that no one can say for sure how long the dog has been blind and suffering from untreated injuries. Surprisingly, the dog seems unfazed by its situation and appears to be quite serene.

Eight-year-old Shep is absolutely thrilled with his fresh start in life. He walks with a bounce in his step, taking on any challenge with a newfound sense of confidence.
