The dog rolls over, climbs on to her lap and can be heard crying with excitement as his is stroked by the woman.
The clip, was filmed in the USA in December, and shows the happy Golden Retriever smiling at the camera.
The solider, who in unnamed but uploaded the footage of her dog, said: “I enlisted in the US Army and left for basic combat training in September.
“This is where I got to see my dog for the first time in three and a half months.”
She added: “Buddy is a 13-year-old Golden Retriever who has arthritis and is losing her hearing, though despite her elderly age was absolutely thrilled to see me and couldn’t even stay on her feet.”
